Finn & Sam’s Hometown Back Yard Wedding | Outside of Portland Oregon
Theres something so sweet and special about getting to shoot a wedding in your hometown for people that you grew up knowing. I was really excited when Sam’s Mom reached out to me about shooting her daughters wedding. Mrs. Farwell taught math when I was in high school and it was a funny coincidence that my maiden name was the same as her last name. I used to joke that she was my “mom” even though there was no family relation. But on Finn and Sam’s wedding day their family made me feel as though I really was family!
I’ve been defiantly been slacking on sharing wedding gallery with everyone to see and this backyard one was full of so much love and happiness that I am so excited to share it with all of you now. For their backyard wedding they kept things simple but romantic. They forgo a lot of old wedding traditions and really focused on being in the moment and sharing that moment with their closest friends and family. Mr. Farwell made these beautiful wooden tables that you see below and each family member brought a homemade pie instead of cake. They wrote their own vows to each other and spent majority of their night dancing with their closest friends and family.
These two were so relaxed and stress free on their wedding day it really made my heart so happy to be able to capture their love for each other. And even though it poured rain during their reception, them and their guests braved it. Like true “Orgonians” they ate and danced in the rain like anyone would do! You could feel all the love from their family and friends and I am so excited to share their day with you all!
Thank you so much Finn & Sam for trusting me to capture your day! I wish you nothing but love and happiness for many years to come!
XOXOXO
